Cape Hatteras Beaches Make Top 10 Beaches List Again

The beaches of Cape Hatteras make it in the top 10 beaches on Dr. Beach’s list for 2015. Cape Hatteras Beaches moves up to the #5 position on the list. Last year Cape Hatteras was #6 on the list. Hatteras Island on the Outer Banks is a beautiful island. After leaving South Nags Head and crossing the Bonner Bridge the beaches of Cape Hatteras stretch for miles and miles with the Atlantic Ocean on the left and the Pamlico Sound on the right. The island is about 42 miles long and at its widest parts only about 1 mile wide. The beaches of Cape Hatteras are wide, clean and less crowded than most. Some beaches are quite isolated especially those located in the areas between Pea Island and Rodanthe.

The Cape Hatteras National Seashore stretches for several miles along the North Carolina coast with the famous Cape Hatteras Lighthouse located in Buxton on Hatteras Island.
