The repairs to the Bonner Bridge at the Outer Banks are progressing very well and fast. Another sonar scan is scheduled for Sunday 12/15/13. Lat week sand was pumped from the inlet channel to the piling where the erosion of sand was discovered forcing the NCDOT to close the bridge. Next week huge sandbags and A-jacks will be placed at the bridge piling to add support and prevent the new sand placement from scour again. When the Bonner Bridge can be reopened is still unknown at this time.
