Body Found Of Missing Swimmer In Duck at Outer Banks
Body found after missing swimmer was reported Saturday. A man was reported missing Saturday while swimming near the pier in Duck. Duck is located in the northern section of the Outer Banks. The missing man was seen struggling in the water at the beach access at Acorn Avenue. A Coast Guard search took place over the weekend but was suspended. Multiple agencies were involved in the search including Duck Surf Rescue, police and fire fighters, Dare County medical transport helicopter and the Coast Guard.
The body of the missing man from Ohio has been recovered. The body of Kyler Miles was found in the early morning hours this morning Monday by the Town of Duck police. Mr. Miles was 25 years old. Other details have not been released.
This is the 9th person to die in an ocean-related incident on the Outer Banks in 2018. Most of the drownings were related to rip currents and strong surf.
