Nags Head home owner killed in Washington Navy Yard shooting. John Roger Johnson, 73, owned a home in Nags Head, NC at the Outer Banks and has family in Durham. Johnson was one of the 12 killed in the Washington Navy Yard rampage by Aaron Alexis. Johnson was a logistics analyst at the Navy Yard.
