The NCDOT has added another Outer Banks traffic web cam on Hatteras Island. This new traffic camera is located south of the temporary bridge in the Pea Island area. The webcam shows Highway 12 traffic and the dunes. This is a great location for a new Outer Banks traffic web cam because this site on Highway 12 on Hatteras Island is a common problem area. Just recently unusually high tides have caused ocean overwash on the highway at the temporary bridge site. The highway was never shutdown but drivers did have to drive through water. Check out the new webcam on the north end of Hatteras. Enter Dare County and the new camera is in the middle of the 3 cameras on north Hatteras Island. It is labeled “NC 12 at Temporary Bridge Inlet”.
