Oregon Inlet Too Shallow to Dredge Is Bad News to Charter Boats

Oregon Inlet has become too shallow to dredge reports the Army Corps of Engineers. The water is only 2 foot deep and that is too shallow for the dredge to operate in. And there is no money to pay for a pipeline dredge. This is very bad news for the Charter Boat Captains that operate out of Oregon Inlet.

The busy season for Charter Boats is just gearing up and there is no way the boats can use Oregon Inlet channel. The state of North Carolina is looking to transfer ownership of Oregon Inlet from the federal government to the state. That is a long way from happening any time soon.
