Boat Runs Aground on Cape Point Beach

Boat runs aground on Cape Point on Hatteras Island at the Outer Banks of NC. A 30-foot fishing boat was discovered sitting on the beach at Cape Point yesterday. The boat, Dagsy Leigh, ran aground overnight after the boat had mechanical problems. The boat drifted ashore and ended up sitting on the beach. No one was injured. Plans were to load the boat on a trailer and tow if off the point (not back into the ocean). Reports were the boat did not appear to have suffered any damage due to the grounding.
