Virus Was Cause of Death for Humpback Whale

The cause of death for the humpback whale that washed ashore on October 16 on Hatteras Island at the Outer Banks and died within hours was due to a virus, possible the same virus that caused the deaths of hundreds of bottlenose dolphins up and down the east coast recently. More testing is being done to determine if the morbillivirus was the virus that caused the whale to die.
