Getting to Hatteras For Vacation
We made it! Another summer week on Hatteras Island for a week’s vacation. My favorite week of the whole year. Arrived on the island about 4:00PM this afternoon. The weather was perfect, blue skies and a little wind. Picked up the keys at the rental office then headed to the Cape Hatteras permit office to pickup our ORV permit we paid for online yesterday. It was 4:32 and the door was locked! Guess we will have to get it Monday. Arrived at the cottage and unloaded the car. Took the dog for a quick walk and then headed to the Quarterdeck for supper about 7:00pm. A nice crowd, love the new look. Great service and good food. Went to the Red & White in Hatteras for a few things. Wanted to rent a bike from Austins on the corner but not open. Guess we will get that Monday too. A stop at Sno-Ball for ice cream! Back to the cottage to finish unpacking and then some relaxing time. The cottage has Wi-Fi!!!!!! What a great surprise! Plan on having breakfast at the cottage in the morning and spending time here soundside and canal side for sun and kayaking. Stay tuned for a daily report to see what’s happening on Hatteras Island.
