Cape Hatteras National Park Closed!

Due to the Government Shutdown the Cape Hatteras National Park has been closed. This includes; the Cape Hatteras National Seashore; the Wright Brothers National Memorial; and Fort Raleigh on Roanoke Island.  It also means lighthouses are closed: Cape Hatteras, Bodie Island, and Cape Lookout are all closed has well as Visitors Centers. Campers have 48 hours to leave any NPS camping site. The shutdown also effects closure of the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center. ORV ramps in the CHNP will be closed with barriers or cables. The Alligator River National wildlife refuge and the Pea Island National refuge is also closed.
